The Senior Specialist - Strategic Procurement (CAPEX & OPEX) plays a vital role within the Aviation & Aero Engine MRO division by collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders across Sanad.
This role focuses on understanding and fulfilling high-value Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) requirements through effective sourcing, negotiation, purchase order processing, and timely delivery management.
The Senior Specialist also drives vendor performance management to ensure cost, quality, and delivery expectations are met.
Supporting the Head and Manager of Strategic Procurement, the role contributes to executing complex procurement activities, offers commercial and sourcing guidance, and promotes procurement efficiency and compliance in line with organizational policies and priorities.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market analysis and develop sourcing strategies for CAPEX and OPEX procurement, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and organizational policies.
- Lead and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and competitive bidding processes to optimize value and commercial competitiveness.
- Analyze supplier markets, pricing trends, and cost drivers to identify opportunities for cost optimization and risk mitigation.
- Plan and execute negotiations on commercial terms, delivery schedules, and contracts to secure favorable outcomes aligned with business goals.
- Monitor supplier performance and sourcing outcomes to drive continuous improvement and procurement effectiveness.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to clarify procurement requirements, timelines, and commercial considerations, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
- Provide regular updates and reports on procurement progress, risks, and delivery status to management and requestors.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, responsiveness, and performance.
- Resolve supplier-related escalations such as non-performance, delays, or quality issues through effective coordination.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Projects, Finance, and Support teams to ensure procurement alignment with technical and budgetary requirements.
- Support procurement pipeline visibility, risk mitigation, and annual budgeting by providing insights and cost estimates.
- Participate in technical and commercial evaluation committees to aid supplier selection and procurement governance.
- Contribute to special procurement initiatives, cost optimization programs, and process improvements.
- Share procurement knowledge and provide guidance to team members and stakeholders.
- Assist with supplier performance reviews, contract renewals, vendor development, and support internal audits and compliance activities.
- Who we are looking for
- We are seeking a seasoned procurement professional with 6 to 9 years of progressive experience in strategic or operational purchasing, ideally within the aviation industry.
- The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field, with preferred professional certifications such as CIPS, APICS, or CSCP.
- Certification or formal training in aviation regulatory compliance from EASA and FAA is required.
- The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading complex procurement initiatives, managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships, and providing commercial guidance.
- Advanced competencies in strategic sourcing, market analysis, supplier relationship management, negotiation, quality assurance, and compliance are essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to resolve supplier-related issues effectively are critical to this role.
