The role owns technical evaluations, shapes solution architectures, supports platform adoption, influences revenue growth through solution selling, and represents customer needs to Product Management.
What you'll do
- Lead technical discovery, demonstrations, and validation of the platform against customer needs.
- Own technical evaluations, including solution design, proofs of concept or value, workshops, and technical components of tenders, audits, and value stream assessments.
- Work with Account Executives and regional sales teams across Italy on acquisition and expansion strategies.
- Build relationships with practitioners and business leaders, guide transformation, and help customers become advocates.
- Advise on modern software development, CI/CD, security, and cloud practices to improve return on investment.
- Share customer feedback, use cases, and competitive insights with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
- Maintain expertise in GitLab, DevSecOps, AI, and cloud technologies; create reusable examples, guidance, and technical collateral.
- Continue learning, mentoring, and sharing knowledge with the Solutions Architect team.
What you'll bring
- Experience in customer-facing technical pre-sales, consulting, or a similar role involving solution design and evaluation.
- Proficiency with the software development lifecycle, modern DevSecOps practices, and CI/CD workflows.
- Hands-on experience with GitLab or comparable source control, CI/CD, and collaboration platforms; ability to map capabilities to customer use cases.
- Practical cloud computing knowledge and ability to discuss deployment, security, and operations options.
- Ability to lead proofs of concept or value, contribute to tenders or audits, and design and run workshops or value stream assessments.
