Senior Software Engineer (SDET), Infrastructure Services

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale production-grade test automation frameworks, libraries, and developer tooling for end-to-end virtual-network testing.
• Build test coverage and test-data management systems; integrate automation with CI/CD and improve developer experience.
• Partner with network engineers, SREs, and architects to design testable interfaces and embed coverage into networking features.
• Build triage and diagnostic tools; work with development teams to debug, reproduce, and resolve defects.
• Engineer test-result reporting, observability, and flaky-test detection to improve reliability.
• Write and present design documents and proposals; maintain READMEs, API references, and framework guides.

Minimum qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing test frameworks, harnesses, or automation platforms across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Strong proficiency in Go or Python and ability to produce maintainable, production-quality code.
• Experience designing API contracts and working with JSON, ProtoBuf, REST, RPC, XML, or similar interfaces.
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenStack, system virtualization, and infrastructure as code; able to build and operate infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills for explaining architecture, technical tradeoffs, test strategy, and results.
• Familiarity with metrics, logging, and tracing, including instrumentation of automation tooling.

Preferred qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience building developer-facing testing tools or platforms and testing scale, performance, and resiliency in networked or cloud environments.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.

Pay and benefits

• Base pay range is USD 184,700–324,800 per year; pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
