Role overview

What you will do

• Own technical delivery and subsystem design across services, data pipelines, APIs, analytics, AI/agent services, and cloud infrastructure.
• Design and evolve scalable, secure systems for high-volume financial data, workflow orchestration, AI capabilities, and enterprise integrations.
• Lead complex hands-on implementation, design, code review, debugging, production readiness, and mentoring.
• Identify risks and reliability gaps; improve engineering standards, testing, documentation, observability, incident response, and production operations.
• Collaborate with product, data science, design, security, infrastructure, implementation, and customer-facing teams.
• Evaluate technologies and contribute standards for API design, data modeling, asynchronous processing, CI/CD, security, and observability.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including enterprise SaaS, data-intensive, or large-scale distributed systems.
• Senior-level technical delivery and ownership across complex initiatives or multiple subsystems.
• Experience designing secure, reliable, multi-tenant SaaS systems and working with data-intensive ingestion, processing, analytics, and integrations.
• Strong API, service integration, data modeling, performance, asynchronous processing, distributed-systems, and database fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of production AI/ML, RAG, or agent workflows and cloud-native engineering and operations.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and explain technical trade-offs; experience in Agile, cross-functional engineering environments.
• Must fulfill requirements necessary to obtain and clear a full background check.

Preferred qualifications

• Fintech, audit, accounting, risk, compliance, or other regulated-enterprise experience is preferred.
• Java/Spring Boot, Python, Azure and Microsoft data platforms, Databricks, Snowflake, lakehouse technologies, or similar experience is preferred.
• Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, observability platforms, SRE, incident management, frontend architecture, customer-facing APIs, SDKs, or developer tooling experience is preferred.

Pay

• Expected base salary is CAD 125,000 to CAD 150,000 per year, with possible bonus awards.
• Salary within the range depends on location, skills, experience, competencies, and qualifications.
