What You Will Do

• Solve scaling bottlenecks in critical services.
• Deploy new features to production through progressive rollout with feature flags.
• Investigate and fix production issues in services owned by the team.
• Design ways to scale services for more traffic.
• Plan the most important future projects with the team.

Required Profile

• Have significant experience in one or more programming languages.
• Value code simplicity and performance.
• Design architecture that solves problems at high scale.
• Hold a BS, MS, or PhD in a scientific field, or have equivalent experience.
• Use AI coding tools in daily workflows and build, validate, and refine AI-generated output in products.
• Design AI backend systems with awareness of quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs.
• Have 6+ years of experience.

Bonus Qualifications

• Worked at high scale with systems such as Redis, Cassandra, or Kafka.
• Built data pipelines.
• Have a strong statistics background.
• Have significant experience with Go, C, or Python.
• Are excited to leverage AI tools in software engineering or eager to learn.

Compensation

• Estimated yearly salary is $192,000 to $240,000 USD.
• Compensation may include salary, equity, and variable compensation based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
