About Experian

Experian is a global data and technology company operating across markets including financial services, healthcare, automotive, agribusiness, and insurance.

Role and domain

Join the Acquisitions & Originations engineering team in Experian's Credit & Verification Services business as an experienced Senior .NET Developer.

The team develops and provides level 3 support for Delphi Select and Evaluate, complex configuration-driven, multi-client platforms used for lending and origination decisions.

Reliability, data integrity, and controlled releases are central because clients use the systems for real-time decisions.

The role is hybrid and Nottingham-based, with 40% of time in the office, and reports to the Lead Developer.

Responsibilities

  • Own features through requirements analysis, technical design, development, unit and integration testing, code review, deployment, and post-release support.
  • Build and maintain scalable C#/.NET services and components, ensuring changes are safe across client configurations.
  • Translate high-level and client-specific requirements into technical designs with technical and business colleagues.
  • Improve automated unit, integration, and regression coverage and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Git and Jenkins.
  • Address technical debt and help modernize the platform toward cloud-native AWS architecture.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior developers, including supporting effective use of AI-assisted development tools.
  • Develop and provide level 3 support for the Delphi Select and Evaluate platforms.

Required skills and experience

  • Strong .NET Core or .NET Framework and C# expertise, including object-oriented design and common design patterns.
  • Experience across the software development lifecycle, ideally supporting a live, business-critical production system.
  • SQL Server / T-SQL experience writing and optimizing queries and stored procedures against production data.
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with service-oriented or microservice architectures.
  • Practical experience with unit and integration testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
  • Version control and CI/CD tooling experience, such as Git, Jenkins, or equivalent.
  • Direct experience in Scrum or another Agile team, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Everyday hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, or documentation.

Beneficial skills

  • AWS exposure or a strong interest in developing cloud skills; Infrastructure as Code; Docker or Kubernetes; financial services, lending, or credit decisioning; React or modern JavaScript/TypeScript; configuration-driven or rules-engine systems.

Benefits

  • Benefits include a compensation package, discretionary bonus plan, pension, Bupa healthcare, sharesave scheme, 25 days' annual leave, eight bank holidays, three volunteering days, and the option to purchase additional leave.
