The Global GenAI Team builds solutions using generative AI techniques to derive contextual insights from enterprise data for business users.
The role is a backend engineering position focused on designing and developing scalable distributed systems and APIs for real-time web applications.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and optimize APIs for reliability, scalability, and performance, and implement authorization including OAuth and access control.
- Apply design patterns, SOLID principles, and test-driven development.
- Resolve performance bottlenecks in distributed systems and web applications, supporting high traffic and low latency.
- Document system architecture, design decisions, API specifications, and security protocols.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployments and support production systems.
- Set up monitoring for performance metrics and proactively identify and address issues.
- Own projects, influence solution direction, collaborate with teammates, and guide technology choices.
- Explain work clearly and create documentation or artifacts that connect business needs to solutions.
Education and experience
- A bachelor's or master's degree in CA, computer science, or an engineering discipline is required by the posting.
- 5+ years of real-world experience developing scalable, high-quality software.
Technical qualifications
- Expertise designing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or Node.js; Python with FastAPI is preferred.
- Knowledge of real-time technologies such as WebSockets or Server-Sent Events.
- Strong experience with distributed systems, cloud computing, fault-tolerant microservices, and OAuth authorization including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, ORM libraries, MSSQL or PostgreSQL, and caching such as Redis or Memcached.
- Understanding of Git, semantic versioning, Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
- Monitoring experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
