Create reusable components, APIs, patterns, and tooling for adoption across multiple products.
Work across Design, Engineering, and Product to help teams deliver customer experiences faster.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of reusable iOS components using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit as appropriate.
- Design scalable APIs for variants, states, themes, composition, and accessibility; translate Figma specifications into production-ready components.
- Contribute to design tokens for color, typography, spacing, sizing, and themes.
- Establish architecture, coding standards, and best practices; build accessibility, performance, quality, and maintainability into components.
- Support product-team adoption, identify gaps, and turn recurring needs into reusable solutions.
- Create documentation, examples, and guidance; maintain automated unit, UI, and snapshot or visual regression tests where appropriate.
- Own component versioning, compatibility, deprecation, and migration strategies.
- Lead technical discussions, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and improve design-to-code workflows and developer experience.
Team and principles
The Design System team connects Design, Engineering, and Product through reusable components, patterns, tokens, and developer tooling.
Team principles emphasize reusable foundations, cross-functional collaboration, customer and developer needs, accessibility, quality, scalability, feedback, and knowledge-sharing.
Who you are
- 6–10 years of strong Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit experience; modern iOS SDK knowledge, Swift Concurrency, modular architecture, and Swift Package Manager.
- Experience building or contributing to an iOS Design System, component library, or reusable platform, with strong component/API design.
- Experience collaborating with designers, translating Figma specifications, and understanding design tokens and design-system foundations.
- Strong iOS accessibility knowledge, including VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, accessibility labels and traits, and inclusive component behavior.
- Strong unit/UI testing; snapshot or visual regression testing is valuable. Understand CI/CD and automated quality checks.
- Understand rendering, memory management, and concurrency; use Instruments and debugging tools to diagnose complex issues.
- Make architectural decisions, communicate trade-offs, conduct reviews, mentor engineers, influence teams, and support shared-library adoption.
- Nice-to-haves include enterprise Design Systems, Figma Variables, Code Connect, token pipelines, visual regression testing, cross-platform alignment, and developer tooling or automation.
