Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure and Tools

Role overview

Impact and responsibilities

• Build and extend core Databricks infrastructure components.
• Architect multi-cloud systems and abstractions for running the product on cloud providers.
• Improve development workflows for engineering and operational efficiency.
• Analyze build and test logs and metrics using Databricks’ platform.
• Develop automated build, test, and release infrastructure.
• Set engineering standards for code checks, test harnesses, and release packaging.

What Databricks looks for

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years writing production code in Java, Scala, Go, C++, or Python.
• Passion for scalable, reliable infrastructure and experience delivering large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud APIs and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.

Pay range

• Local pay range is $166,000–$225,000 USD per year.
• Compensation may also include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
