Senior Software Engineer in Test, UI Platform

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and own scalable UI test architecture and frameworks used across frontend teams.
• Build and maintain cross-browser and visual regression test suites; establish automated and manual accessibility testing in CI.
• Maintain localization and globalization test coverage across locales, languages, and right-to-left layouts.
• Verify default configurations and behaviors across supported environments; review requirements and design specifications to create test plans.
• Coordinate cross-team quality engineering efforts, document plans, respond to production and customer issues during on-call rotation, and mentor SDETs, new hires, and interns.

Required qualifications

• At least five years of quality engineering experience with hands-on test automation expertise.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript proficiency and ability to write production-quality frontend code.
• Experience with modern UI testing technologies such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium WebDriver.
• Experience in cross-browser, visual regression, accessibility, and localization/globalization testing.
• Experience designing test architecture and frameworks from the ground up; ability to set technical direction with minimal supervision.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and contribute at an architectural level.
• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field.

Compensation

• The annual base salary range for candidates located in Canada is CAD 118,000–162,000; actual pay depends on skills, qualifications, and experience.
