Senior Software Engineer in Test

Role overview

Job duties and responsibilities

• Review requirements and design specifications to develop test plans and test cases.
• Automate UI, API, end-to-end, reliability, and scale tests.
• Partner with engineering management to scope and plan engineering efforts.
• Communicate and document quality engineering plans for scrum teams.
• Review application code, identify bugs and weaknesses, and design tools for future coverage.
• Automate critical features to maintain a zero-debt cadence and release features with solid quality.
• Respond to production alerts and customer issues during on-call rotations.
• Advocate for customers and maintain strong quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of QE/SDET experience; enterprise SaaS or product-company experience is preferred.
• Experience in quality engineering for enterprise-level software and Java-based automation development.
• Familiarity with tools such as Selenium, Cypress, API tools (Rest Assured, Karate, etc.), Postman, JMeter, Splunk, and AWS tools.
• Expertise in test planning and cross-team collaboration; experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Ability to write and review designs and code with teammates and deliver high-quality code on time.

Nice to have

• Performance testing experience.
• Experience with CI/CD practices.
• Experience with Office 365, Google, Salesforce, and Active Directory/LDAP integrations.
