How you will make an impact
- Build and maintain reliable JVM services; design APIs and integrations and contribute to API standards and documentation.
- Deliver end-to-end features and create effective automated tests using test-first and test-informed practices.
- Experiment with AI-assisted engineering tools where valuable and validate outputs for correctness, security and maintainability.
- Contribute to event-driven workflows, asynchronous processing, technical discovery, architecture discussions and code reviews.
- Improve build, test and deployment pipelines; embed logging, metrics and distributed tracing.
- Consider operational, security and governance implications; address technical debt, performance and reliability risks.
- Share knowledge, support collective code ownership and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
What is important
- Strong commercial server-side development experience with Kotlin or modern Java; Java 17 or later is preferred.
- Good JVM and backend development knowledge, API experience, and understanding of reliability, maintainability, performance and security.
- Proven automated testing experience and practical relational database experience.
- Modern frontend development experience; React and TypeScript are preferred examples.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, production support and collaborative agile product teams.
- Curiosity about AI-augmented engineering and willingness to develop new ways of working; daily AI tool use is not expected.

Desirable experience
- AI-assisted development tools; asynchronous and event-driven architectures; Spring Boot, Quarkus, Micronaut or Ktor.
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP; containers; relational, NoSQL or other persistence technologies.
- Shared platforms, common services, greenfield foundations, REST API design and observable systems.
- Regulated or financial-services environments, payments, transaction processing or other business domains.
- Equivalent experience with comparable technologies will be considered.
