The Opportunity

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Architect and implement reliable, scalable backend services; backend work is approximately 70% of the role.
• Own asynchronous service communication, configuration distribution, and Kafka telemetry pipelines.
• Optimize relational database queries for performance and device inventory visibility.
• Use AI-assisted development tools and review code rigorously.
• Partner with infrastructure on CI/CD pipelines, agent distribution, and deployment patterns.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decisions.
• Build scalable and failure-resilient systems for global device fleets.

Minimum qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong backend web development focus.
• Strong professional proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
• Production API and service experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Comfort or exposure to frontend architecture such as React for approximately 30% frontend work.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers; Kafka is required.
• Understanding of service-oriented architecture, microservices, and high-concurrency connections.
• Pragmatic use of AI-assisted development tools and senior-level debugging to validate generated code.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment and proficiency with AWS or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
• Peer code review experience, end-to-end testing with Playwright or Selenium, and observability tools such as DataDog.
• Must be able to work onsite at the Coral Gables office Tuesday through Thursday.
