Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to front-end architecture, design decisions, and development for scalable, maintainable web applications built with a modern component-based framework.
  • Partner with back-end engineers, UX designers, DevOps, and product managers to deliver features aligned with user needs and business priorities.
  • Drive best practices in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, peer code reviews, and performance optimization.
  • Implement and enforce standards for code quality, maintainability, and application security using code quality tools and software composition/security scanning tools.
  • Contribute to and coordinate technology upgrades to keep the codebase current stable, and supportable.
  • Mentor, train, and support hiring of junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a high-performance and inclusive engineering culture.
  • Champion agile delivery practices to ensure rapid, reliable release of product enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing large-scale software applications using Java.
  • Experience with full-stack application development (Java and React), including backend services, web technologies, and database integration.
  • Experience working with Java-based web applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and EKS is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills and Technologies:
  • Core Development
  • Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience building and maintaining backend services and enterprise web applications.
  • Frontend Development
  • Experience with modern web development technologies, including HTML, React.js and related frameworks or libraries.
  • React.js and JavaScript knowledge is desirable.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud environments.
  • Exposure to cloud-native development concepts and services such as Lambda, S3, API Gateway, EKS, containers, and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with Docker, containerized application deployment, or Kubernetes-based environments is desirable.
  • Data and APIs
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
  • Ability to integrate applications with databases and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Snowflake or Click house knowledge is desirable.
  • DevOps and Tools
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and DevOps practices.
  • Experience or exposure to tools such as Jenkins and Jira is preferred.
  • This is a hybrid role with in-office expectations determined by location and subject to change based on evolving business needs.
