The role reports to the Director of Clinical Intelligence and AI Evaluation and collaborates with engineering, product, design, and ML teams.
The position focuses on internal platforms for clinical data annotation, normalization, LLM-based labelling, concept mapping, workflows, and model evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Lead full-stack feature development for clinical data annotation and internal tooling platforms.
- Define reliable platform capabilities with product, architecture, security, and engineering partners.
- Balance scalability, performance, security, reliability, and delivery speed in technical decisions.
- Lead or participate in design reviews, architecture discussions, code reviews, debugging, on-call, and production issue resolution.
- Build advanced annotation interfaces and backend services for clinical data and model evaluation workflows.
- Collaborate with ML engineers on scalable LLM-based model development solutions.
- Optimize performance for high-volume data and concurrent users.
- Mentor engineers and improve team practices.
- Communicate project status and coordinate delivery with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate or master's-level degree in a relevant computing, data, clinical informatics, health information, research, or analytical field.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with C# and .NET/.NET Core.
- Frontend experience with React, TypeScript, and state management frameworks such as Redux.
- Backend experience with NestJS/Node.js and/or C#/.NET.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, modern service architectures, SQL, and R or Python.
- Understanding of testing, code review, debugging, source control, CI/CD, production ownership, and application security.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, adaptability, teamwork, ownership, and reliability skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure services and scalable ASP.NET Core or Web API services.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, queues, messaging, data pipelines, or Apache Spark.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, observability, and operational excellence practices.
- Experience with healthcare, analytics, regulated, unstructured clinical, or large-scale healthcare data environments.
