Role overview
The engineer will join a small product pod and own features end-to-end from an uncertain idea to a production release.
The role involves fast decisions, direct user impact, and limited reliance on detailed specifications or formal handoffs.
What you will own
- Own ecommerce features or product lines such as Email, SMS, or RCS from idea through production.
- Write backend services in Python and Go while maintaining parts of the existing PHP codebase.
- Touch the frontend when a feature requires it.
- Talk to users, prototype quickly, and decide what is appropriate for a first release.
- Make scope and trade-off decisions within the pod and validate them with the wider team.
- Drive product thinking and protect reliability and performance without gold-plating.
Required qualifications
- At least 5 years of direct experience shipping products used by real users is required.
- Strong Python and Go skills and comfort working around PHP are required.
- Experience with SaaS or B2B products, multi-tenant systems, and customer workflows is required.
- Candidates must use a coding agent as a regular part of their work and understand its strengths and limitations.
- Strong product instincts, comfort with ambiguity, autonomy, and clear writing are required.
Preferred experience
- Ecommerce experience, early-stage company experience, or familiarity with email, CRM, or marketing automation is advantageous.
Working style
