Role and team

What you'll do

• Build and evolve scalable backend systems with attention to performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design, implement, test, and release product-facing features with strict correctness and availability requirements.
• Define and refine REST APIs with frontend and data engineers.
• Lead complex projects from design through execution and mentor junior engineers.
• Improve system performance, developer productivity, and operational risk.

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years building low-latency, large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Experience designing and operating highly concurrent systems and well-structured REST APIs.
• Demonstrated ownership of large projects with sustained system or team impact.
• Strong technical judgment, prioritization, problem-solving, and delivery skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical direction.

Workplace

• Role is based in the Menlo Park, CA, and New York, NY offices.
• In-person attendance is expected at least 3 days per week.

Compensation

• Base pay is listed by compensation zone: Zone 1 $196,000–$230,000; Zone 2 $172,000–$202,000; Zone 3 $153,000–$179,000.
• The role is also eligible for bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.
