Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Infrastructure)

The Opportunity

Your Impact

• Architect scalable solutions using MySQL, Vitess, Kafka, Cassandra, Redis, and big data platforms for AI applications and workflows.
• Build and enhance Python backend systems that integrate with machine learning and AI models, and mentor junior engineers.
• Design Django business logic and integrate systems with AI components and databases.
• Write reusable, efficient, maintainable code for high-performance web services and real-time AI analytics.
• Collaborate with AI teams to streamline data pipelines, optimize model deployment, and support AI product features.
• Drive technical decisions and communicate technical strategies for AI-enabled infrastructure across teams.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years developing and architecting large-scale web services, preferably with exposure to AI systems.
• Expertise in databases, distributed systems, backend performance optimization, and backend requirements for machine learning infrastructure.
• Understanding of database internals, transactions, indexing, and schema design for AI data workloads.
• Expert Python proficiency or proficiency in Go, Java, or C++.
• Extensive Django experience and integration experience with MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and Cassandra.
• Hands-on AWS deployment and service management experience, particularly with machine learning platforms.
• Substantial production server or equivalent backend expertise, communication skills, curiosity, and attention to detail.

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with HTTP, networking principles, and API design patterns for AI integrations.
• Experience with Linux and operating systems interactions with AI applications and services.

Salary Range

• Estimated base salary range is $185,000 to $230,000 USD per year.
• Actual base salary depends on multiple factors and is one component of the total rewards package.
