Lead technical design and implementation, mentor engineers, and help ensure systems are scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable.
Software development and ownership
- Design, develop, test, and deploy complex software solutions; lead delivery across multiple contributors.
- Own assigned systems and services, improve scalability, performance, and reliability, and investigate complex production issues.
- Contribute to architecture, identify risks, modernize systems, and reduce technical debt.
- Partner with DevOps and Platform teams to improve reliability, monitoring, observability, and operations.
Technical leadership and collaboration
- Lead technical discussions, guide implementation, conduct code and design reviews, and mentor engineers.
- Champion quality, testing, security, and maintainability; improve engineering practices and share knowledge.
- Collaborate across Product Management, Architecture, Support, DevOps, and Engineering, contributing to planning and estimation.
AI-enabled engineering
- Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and code review.
- Apply agentic workflows to understand code, troubleshoot, and accelerate development; review generated output for quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience; 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong TypeScript and full-stack application development experience, including Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, and React.
- Experience building, designing, and supporting scalable production systems; relational databases such as MySQL or equivalent; Docker and basic troubleshooting.
- Understanding of networking for modern web and distributed applications; strong system design, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Practical experience with AI coding assistants and agentic workflows, and judgment assessing generated output.
Preferred qualifications
- Cloud platforms, serverless applications, and distributed systems, ideally Azure/Azure Functions or comparable technologies such as AWS Lambda.
- Event-driven architectures, messaging, asynchronous processing, and Service Bus or equivalent.
- NoSQL and caching technologies such as MongoDB and Redis; CI/CD, application security, observability, and modern software delivery.
- Kubernetes and modern UI/design systems such as Material UI/MUI or equivalent.
- Exposure to PHP/AngularJS; Java or C# experience.
