What you will do
- Build AI-powered capabilities for onboarding, ingestion, reconciliation, validation, exception handling, and operational review.
- Combine model-driven reasoning with deterministic financial execution.
- Trace financial values to source evidence, surface gaps, and prevent execution when validation fails.
- Build ingestion and normalization for messy exports, historical records, customer files, and inconsistent provider formats.
- Create evaluations, test harnesses, observability, and feedback loops to measure AI quality.
- Partner with product, design, operations, compliance, and platform teams to deliver reliable AI features.
- Prototype ambiguous ideas and scale successful solutions into reusable primitives.
- Set standards for correctness, auditability, security, reliability, and production safety.
What you will need
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production systems at meaningful scale.
- Experience designing backend systems, data models, APIs, workflows, or platform infrastructure for complex business domains.
- Strong judgment about reliability, correctness, edge cases, and operational risk.
- Interest in applied AI, LLMs, agents, evaluations, retrieval, structured extraction, or AI-assisted workflows.
- Ability to choose where AI is appropriate, use deterministic systems when needed, and build guardrails.
- Product sense and comfort with ambiguity.
- Ability to collaborate across product, domain, operations, and engineering teams to build scalable software.
- Ability to own problems from discovery through implementation, rollout, measurement, and iteration.
Workplace
- For office-based employees living within a defined radius of a Rippling office, the current policy requires working in-office at least three days per week.
Compensation
- The U.S. pay range for this role is USD 168,000–280,000 per year, with salary tier based on location.
- The role includes competitive benefits and equity.
