Senior Software Engineer, API & Automation

Design and build production APIs and SDKs for interacting with Formlabs software, printers, and manufacturing workflows

Build reliable automation systems that enable customers to integrate print preparation and Formlabs printers into their software and workflows

Ship value-generating features to customers by building and evolving reliable, easy-to-use APIs

Work with Product Management teams and external developers to solve complex problems and shape the long-term technical direction

Have experience building APIs, SDKs, or other developer-facing software

Have a strong foundation in software architecture, data structures, object-oriented software design, and cloud services

Enjoy working on ambiguous and technically challenging problems that span multiple systems

Are comfortable working across system boundaries and debugging complex interactions between software components

Are interested in the interaction between software and physical devices

Are highly user-focused and motivated by building software that makes a real difference for the people who use it

Take ownership, have a bias toward action, and are comfortable making decisions and moving work forwardCan collaborate effectively with engineers and technical teams across different disciplines

Experience designing or working with APIs using technologies such as REST, gRPC, OpenAPI, or AsyncAPI

Experience with messaging systems such as NATS or MQTT

Experience writing C++ code, from academic or personal projects to production software

Experience with MES or industrial automation

Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, or cloud infrastructure

Experience with embedded systems, networking

Experience building AI-powered applications

Experience with 3D graphics, computational geometry, robotics, or simulation

Compensation Every Formlabs employee receives equity because everyone contributes to building the company. You’ll have the opportunity to share financially in the value we create together, with a shared incentive to build a business that succeeds over the long term. Equity will be a significant portion of your total compensation, and will increase over time in proportion to your impact. The base pay will be determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and expected impact on the organization.

The annual base pay range for this role is:$150,000—$210,000 USD
