Senior Software Engineer on the Cloud Platform Core Services Engineering Team, building multi-cloud infrastructure services.
The role leads design and development of AI-enabled product experiences, scalable systems, and modern AI-assisted engineering practices.
The team builds cloud services that bring Teradata analytics capabilities to public cloud platforms; the role reports to a Senior Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure and control-plane services across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, management, and monitoring of Teradata Cloud services, sites, and offerings.
- Develop threat models to secure cloud-platform services and meet compliance standards.
- Build AI-powered features, agent-based workflows, and production-ready AI agents using LLM technologies.
- Operationalize agents with deployment pipelines, containerization, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate on product ideas and technical designs; implement maintainable-code practices and review designs, architecture, and code.
Minimum requirements
- Graduate or bachelor's degree in computer science.
- At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
- At least 3 years designing, building, and operating distributed complex software systems on Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure.
- Experience with DevOps methods, full-stack development, RESTful services, Docker, Kubernetes, and mission-critical 24x7 systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go or Python.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and architecture at scale, cloud network administration, and AWS infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
Additional experience and technical skills
- Experience with Teradata or other TDMS NoSQL/SQL database concepts.
- Scripting experience with languages such as Go, Python, or Shell for automation, reporting, and tool creation.
- Experience influencing engineering best practices and supporting distributed cloud systems.
- Cloud network experience includes VPCs, ACLs, subnets, peering, DNS, and firewalls.
