The Senior Software Development Manager leads the AI Development organization, shaping technical strategy and partnering with Data Science and Product.
The organization builds self-service, low-latency model and agent serving and tools for evaluation and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Build, grow, and manage a high-performing team of 8–10 software developers across multiple squads.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and strong execution.
- Own delivery of model and agent serving infrastructure for a reliable, self-service production path for first- and third-party models and agents.
- Own evaluation and monitoring tools for rigorous pre-release assessment and continuous production regression and drift analysis.
- Drive project planning, resource allocation, and technical roadmaps with Data Science and Product.
- Work with teams launching models and agents to understand their needs and develop self-service platform capabilities.
Minimum qualifications
- Proven experience building and operating ML/AI platforms, including model and agent serving and evaluation, with strong self-service adoption.
- At least 8 years of experience in software, data, cloud, or ML development roles.
- At least 3 years of people management experience leading software or ML development teams.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience managing multiple teams, directly or through technical leads, including planning, prioritization, and delivery across squads.
Preferred qualifications
- Deep understanding of MLOps and responsible AI, including governance and evaluation frameworks for LLM-based models and agents.
- Healthcare or life sciences experience, particularly with HL7 FHIR standards.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Ability to influence and align software development, product, and data science teams.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
Compensation
- The posting states a CAN base salary range of CAD 175,000 to CAD 197,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
