• Build progressive and dynamic authentication scopes for least-privilege connections.
• Develop service-level account connections for enterprise management.
• Create document management, normalization, and authorization capabilities across third-party platforms.
• Deliver API and backend features and lead small teams through significant feature delivery.

Basic qualifications

• 8+ years of experience architecting, building, and scaling robust and efficient software systems.
• 4+ years developing REST or GraphQL APIs with a common web application framework such as Rails or Node.js/Express.
• 2+ years working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Demonstrable experience with key-value data stores such as Redis or Valkey.
• Demonstrable experience scaling high-volume APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Other qualifications

• Algorithmic thinking and ability to solve complex problems and optimize processes.
• API development skills for integrations with external systems.
• Understanding of unit, integration, and regression testing and object-oriented design principles.
• Software development experience spanning design, programming, documentation, testing, and maintenance.
• Effective collaboration, communication, technical writing, and documentation skills.
• Distributed applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure are a plus.

Compensation

• Annualized base salary range for San Francisco: $176,000–$264,000 USD.
• Additional US location base salary range: $148,200–$264,000 USD; role may also qualify for bonus and stock grants.

Flexible work

• Teams spend at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, or partners, depending on role.
• Remote home-office roles may also attend important in-person gatherings.
