For our office in Riyadh, we are looking for
Senior Road Engineer
ARX is recruiting a Senior Road Engineer to support the delivery of major PMC road projects within Riyadh.
This role is ideal for a senior professional with strong road and highway delivery experience across design review, construction oversight, and coordination within a PMC/consultancy environment.
You will act as the technical authority for road works across multiple corridors and packages, ensuring safe, efficient delivery in line with required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for road engineering scope across the program (governance, compliance, and quality).
- Review and endorse road design deliverables including drawings, specifications, BoQs, method statements, and ITPs.
- Oversee delivery of key road elements such as:
- + Alignment and geometric design
- + Pavement design and materials
- + Earthworks and grading
- + Road drainage and stormwater systems
- + Traffic management and temporary diversions
- + Interfaces with utilities, structures, and ITS
- Lead resolution of technical issues including RFIs, NCRs, site constraints, design gaps, and constructability challenges.
- Support construction supervision, inspections, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Support testing, inspections, and handover activities to ensure operational readiness.
- Coordinate with authorities and stakeholders to secure approvals and maintain delivery continuity.
- Mentor junior and senior engineers and ensure consistent quality across packages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (master's preferred).
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in major road/highway projects.
- Strong knowledge of road geometry, pavement design, drainage, and construction methodologies.
- Proven experience in design review, construction supervision, and project delivery within PMC/consultancy environments.
- Familiarity with international and Saudi road design standards and authority requirements.
- Strong coordination, communication, and reporting skills with ability to lead technical discussions.
- Experience working with PMC / consultant / client-side teams is preferred.
- English required (Arabic is an advantage).
