Senior Risk & Compliance Associate

You will perform assessments of all processes through a risk based approach, to ensure

compliance with regulation and to ensure fraud and credit risk are acceptable to the business;

 Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and fraud monitoring reviews within agreed SLAs

across business units, identifying key risk exposures and recommending mitigation strategies and

controls;

 Develop and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs), fraud metrics and compliance monitoring

metrics, escalating significant findings to senior leadership;

 Manage risk related ad-hoc activities and recommend SMART actions on each activity in a

timely manner;

 Monitor and analyze transactions, patterns, and emerging threats using data analytics and fraud

detection tools;

 Support the Head of Risk, Compliance and Governance by serving as a key point of contact for

government and regulatory correspondence and data requests, managing incoming and outgoing

communications through strong internal stakeholder management and ensuring submissions are

done within agreed timeframes;

 Support the development of a Risk Management Framework within the business and play a key

role in the identification and management of risk issues on behalf of the UAE business;

 Perform assessments of the IT related aspects of the business;

 Conduct reviews of processes to check compliance with regulatory requirements;

 Assist in completing regulatory requirements and reporting under the guidance of the Head of

 Collaborate with technology, operations, and product teams to design and implement anti-fraud

controls and prevention measures;

 Prepare detailed fraud and risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management;

 Prepare and submit formal written communications to government agencies and/or regulatory

bodies, including official letters, reports, and regulatory disclosures, ensuring accuracy,

compliance, and timely submission;

 Report regularly to the Head of Risk, Compliance & Governance on the status of fraud

investigations and the development of the UAE business’ fraud risk profile;

 Liaise and work closely with team in Information Technology, Merchant handling, Finance, Call

Centre and Operations as required and as appropriate;

 Do their part to ensure that all activities comply with relevant legislation and regulation

 Mentor and guide junior risk associates and quality control analysts, providing oversight and

quality review of their work;

 Stay current on fraud typologies, industry developments, and regulatory requirements.

 Bachelor's degree or equivalent education required as minimum.

Knowledge of commercial

financial products/services/digital payments;

 Appropriate level of knowledge and experience of best practice fraud risk management and

governance frameworks and methodologies;

 At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in risk management, compliance, fraud management,

governance, audit or a related field;

 Basic understanding of risk management principles, frameworks, and methodologies

 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel or other database applications.

 Strong investigative, analytical and critical thinking skills.

Adaptive to fast-paced work

environment.

 Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.

Written and spoken

fluency in English required.

Written and spoken fluency in Arabic is an added advantage.
