Your Role

The Test Lead is responsible for leading and managing the testing team, planning and coordinating QA activities, ensuring test coverage, and driving high quality product delivery. This role oversees end to end testing processes, mentors QA engineers, collaborates closely with cross functional teams, and ensures timely and defect free releases.

Test Planning & Strategy

• Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and effort estimates for diverse projects.
• Define the scope, approach, timelines, and deliverables for all phases of testing.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage across both functional and non-functional requirements.

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead, mentor, and support QA team members (manual and automation).
• Allocate tasks, track progress, and ensure timely execution of testing activities.
• Provide technical guidance on tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Test Execution & Management

• Oversee test case creation, execution, and defect tracking to maintain high standards.
• Review test artifacts for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Prioritize and resolve defects within defined timelines.
• Coordinate integration, system, regression, and UAT testing cycles for smooth releases.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Scrum Masters to align on project goals.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and project meetings to stay connected with cross-functional teams.
• Communicate test status, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders effectively.

Process Improvement

• Identify and address gaps in QA processes to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead automation initiatives and CI/CD integration where applicable.
• Establish and maintain quality standards, templates, and best practices.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare test metrics, dashboards, and quality reports for management and stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation for test strategies, defect logs, and closure reports.
• Ensure compliance with organizational QA processes.

Technical Skills Your Skills and Experience

• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and QA methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
• Familiarity with automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium) and API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).
• SQL knowledge for backend validation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Professional Experience

• Extensive experience in QA/testing, including leading teams and managing complex projects.
• Exposure to web, mobile, and cloud-based application testing.

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automation frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, PyTest).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
• Relevant industry certifications (ISTQB, CSTE, Agile/Scrum).
• Experience with DevOps practices and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
