Senior QA Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Own quality assurance for cards, payments, and wallet platforms, including payment enablement.
• Define risk-based test strategies and plans, and provide clear quality assessments.
• Lead testing of payment gateways, PSP integrations, and digital wallets.
• Perform API, backend, and transaction validation testing.
• Investigate defects, analyze transaction data, and support root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to drive quality throughout delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, reporting, and test coverage.

Required experience and skills

• Proven experience testing end-to-end card payment journeys, payment gateways, and third-party payment integrations.
• Experience testing Worldpay or comparable PSP platforms in complex payment ecosystems.
• Experience leading and executing tests for Apple Pay, Google Pay, and digital wallet integrations.
• Experience defining and executing risk-based testing for complex payment journeys and integrations.
• API testing experience; Postman is provided as an example tool.
• Understanding of card processing, authorization, tokenization, clearing, and settlement.
• Experience defining test strategies, estimating effort, setting coverage, and communicating quality and risk assessments.
• Agile delivery experience; defect investigation, log and transaction analysis, and root cause analysis.
• Strong exploratory testing skills across complex digital and backend systems.
• SQL and backend data validation skills; experience identifying automation opportunities and collaborating with automation engineers.

Certification

• ISTQB certification, Ministry of Testing certification, or equivalent practical experience is accepted.

Desirable experience

• Experian integration testing is desirable.
• PCI-DSS or regulated payment environments are desirable.
• Financial services or high-volume transactional platform experience is desirable.
