Senior Property Accountant

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, reporting, and analysis for properties and consolidated client portfolios.
• Resolve financial reporting, tenant CAM and tax questions with Operations and provide accounting policy guidance.
• Mentor junior Property Accountants and assist with accurate, timely monthly reporting.
• Coordinate accounting workflow and reporting integration for acquisitions and support dispositions.
• Participate in portfolio planning meetings and present property results.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, controls, procedures, and process improvements.
• Test and implement Yardi accounting software functions and provide systems support.

Qualifications

• At least five years of commercial real estate property accounting or related experience.
• Retail portfolio experience within third-party property management is a strong asset.
• CPA designation is a strong asset.
• Excellent communication, time management, prioritization, autonomy, initiative, and teamwork skills.
• Strong Excel, Word, and Outlook knowledge.
• Experience with real estate accounting systems, especially Yardi.

Compensation

• The approximate salary range is $88,089 to $97,000 for the role across Canada locations.
• Individual pay is determined by work location and job-related skills, experience, and education or training.

• The position is based in Toronto, Ontario.
