Role overview

Lead the integrated delivery of the University’s Banner SaaS implementation and associated business transformation programme.

Coordinate University teams, implementation partners, system integrators, and third-party vendors across a complex enterprise programme.

The role requires enough understanding of enterprise systems, integrations, data, and technology delivery to identify risks and coordinate decisions; it is not a technical subject-matter-expert role.

Term and workplace

  • This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity based at the Surry Hills campus in Sydney, with hybrid flexibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead programme planning covering milestones, dependencies, resources, decisions, and critical-path activities, aligned with university priorities and outcomes.
  • Establish governance, executive reporting, assurance, and escalation processes; manage scope, requirements, risks, issues, dependencies, change control, and approvals.
  • Coordinate functional, technical, data, integration, security, testing, training, and change workstreams; coordinate migration and technical readiness across the digital ecosystem.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for implementation partners, system integrators, and vendors; monitor deliverables, performance, resourcing, service levels, commercial obligations, and escalations.
  • Lead integrated testing, cutover, and operational-readiness planning; support compliance, benefits realisation, continuous improvement, and delivery capability uplift.

Experience and qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex enterprise technology, SaaS, student information system, or business transformation programmes.
  • Direct Ellucian Banner experience is highly desirable; another higher education platform or large-scale enterprise system will also be considered.
  • Strong programme planning, governance, risk, issue, dependency, and change management experience.
  • Experience coordinating system integration, data migration, testing, cutover, and operational readiness across multiple workstreams.
  • Proven partner, system integrator, and vendor management experience, including delivery commitments, performance, resourcing, and escalations.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills; experience working in matrix environments with distributed or international teams.
  • Sound decision-making with incomplete information, constructive challenge, and the ability to maintain momentum through ambiguity.
  • Relevant project or programme management qualifications; PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, or an equivalent certification is highly regarded.

Benefits

  • Professional development and internal career opportunities.
  • Eligible employees may study free in a course related to their position.
  • Collaborative and inclusive working environment and flexible hybrid arrangements.
