Role overview

Key accountabilities

• Translate business needs into measurable projects aligned with business strategy and define scope, delivery approach, plans and benefits.
• Lead cross-functional teams, ensure capability and capacity, foster a high-performance culture and remove impediments.
• Manage project finances, schedules, risks and issues, resolving potential barriers early.
• Manage stakeholder involvement and commitment throughout delivery.
• Ensure quality management and technical assurance meet V/Line's Enterprise Project Management Framework and relevant standards.
• Communicate progress through targeted updates and regular status reports.
• Use a pragmatic mix of Agile and Waterfall methodologies tailored to project needs.

Key selection criteria

• At least 8 years' experience successfully managing medium-to-large software projects exclusively on the business side, not as a vendor.
• Ability to communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders from junior through executive and director level.
• Experience presenting project reports to executive or director-level leadership.

Desirable qualifications

• Relevant project management certifications are desirable.
• Tertiary qualifications in project management or a related field are desirable.
