Full-time civil engineer role overseeing refurbishment, renovation, and interior fit-out projects in Dubai.
The role manages projects independently from initial site assessment through execution and handover and works with management, clients, consultants, and project teams.
Project delivery and technical oversight
- Plan and oversee civil refurbishment, renovation, repair, and interior fit-out works from assessment to handover.
- Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical solutions; identify site issues and recommend cost-effective improvements.
- Oversee partitions, ceilings, flooring, joinery, painting, doors, finishes, and associated civil works in coordination with MEP specialists.
- Prepare and review estimates, quotations, material requirements, schedules, and variations; monitor costs and delivery milestones.
Site coordination and quality
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants and resolve technical or operational issues.
- Ensure workmanship meets specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable permits.
- Manage inspections, snagging, and handover and report progress, budgets, risks, and issues to management.
Essential qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 10 years of relevant engineering and project-execution experience, including substantial refurbishment, renovation, and interior fit-out work.
- Ability to manage projects independently through planning, site execution, and final handover.
- Strong knowledge of civil works, architectural finishes, construction materials, and MEP coordination.
- Experience with cost estimation, BOQs, contractor coordination, and project scheduling.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project-reporting skills.
Preferred qualifications
- UAE/GCC commercial refurbishment and interior fit-out experience; experience in occupied, high-traffic, or operational facilities.
- Familiarity with UAE construction standards, authority approvals, and site safety requirements.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and project-scheduling tools.
- Valid UAE driving licence.
