The Senior Product Control Analyst supports business understanding of financial positions, with a focus on valuation, profit and loss, risk, and reporting.
The role provides analysis and recommendations to stakeholders, supports products and markets, and improves team processes.
Responsibilities
- Explain financial positions and performance through valuation, profit and loss, risk, and reporting analysis.
- Provide clear insight as a Product Control expert to stakeholders.
- Automate processes and develop solutions using tools including Excel, VBA, SQL, and Python.
- Assess risk, support new products and markets, build and test models, and contribute to business initiatives.
Skills and experience
- Relevant experience in Product Control or Market Risk.
- Exposure to gas and power trading, sales, or flow industries is a prerequisite.
- Sound understanding of financial products and trading businesses; knowledge of commodities and profit and loss attribution.
- Experience with some or all of derivatives, FX, futures, swaps, options, and option Greeks.
- Programming and modelling capability in at least two of Excel, Excel VBA, SQL, SSIS, Python, or Power BI; knowledge of ETRMs or systems.
Working arrangement
- Hybrid working typically means two days in the listed office and three days working from home each week.
- Occasional travel to other offices may be required.
- Employees may work from anywhere in the world for up to 30 days a year.
