Role Overview

The program covers regulated and non-regulated processes with significant chemical, pressure, thermal, mechanical, fire, explosion, or stored-energy hazards.
The position reports to the Environmental Manager.
The role can be based in Decatur, Illinois, or Memphis, Tennessee.
Program management and compliance
- Develop and monitor process safety performance indicators and communicate program performance to facility and executive leadership.
- Oversee compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and other applicable federal, state, local, and code requirements.
- Represent the company during applicable regulatory interactions.
- Develop and oversee process hazard identification, assessment, prioritization, and control methods.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, refrigeration contractors, EHS, and facility leadership on process changes and risk controls.
Hazards and asset integrity
- Address hazards involving ammonia and CO2 refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, nitrogen systems, hazardous chemicals, combustible dust, steam, hot liquids, and cooking oils.
- Coordinate recurring pressure vessel inspections and oversee mechanical integrity requirements for critical equipment and systems.
- Ensure applicable engineering practices, codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations are implemented.
- Develop and maintain a Critical Safety Device Program, including identifying and documenting applicable devices.
Travel and work location
- The role requires up to 25% travel, described as approximately one week per month, to facilities of responsibility.
- The position can be based in Decatur, Illinois, or Memphis, Tennessee.
Compensation
- The listed salary is USD 82,250–102,813 per year.
Requirements
- Experience developing, implementing, maintaining, and improving process safety management systems for hazardous processes and equipment.
- Ability to assess regulatory applicability and oversee compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and other applicable requirements.
- Ability to develop and oversee process hazard assessments and risk-based hazard controls.
- Ability to coordinate mechanical integrity requirements and recurring pressure vessel inspections.
- Ability to work with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, contractors, and facility leadership.
- Able to travel up to 25% to facilities of responsibility.
