Job Overview

The IT Senior Principal IT Pillar specialist is a pivotal role within our organization, requiring a seasoned professional with at least 8 to 12 years of Digitalization & autonomous operations in the Oil & Gas industry.

The successful candidate will possess in-depth technical know-how of offshore Oil & Gas facilities and aspects related to its engineering , construction , operations and maintenance.

Will perform as Digital Twin lead on revenue projects to deliver end-to-end solutions as per defined scope of work.

Assist in the analysis, design and development of Digital Twin roadmap aligned with McDermott’s business strategies.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic insights and recommend best practices for improving EPC, O&M processes and services leading to a best-in-class delivery model for Project Execution and O&M Digitalization
  • Develop, maintain, and improve digital platforms, software, and systems used for O&M operations.
  • Manage and optimize digital workflows and processes to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
  • Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, for Client Digital Twin requirements
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing of Digital Twin projects, ensuring alignment with the project objectives
  • Interface with other departments & Client representatives to obtain input for solution design and use case detailing
  • Document substantive communications (communications that result in significant decisions or assignment of actions)
  • Raise technical queries to obtain missing information, clarify work scope, and maintain preferred McDermott procedures, specifications, standards, practices, and operational requirements
  • Perform (as required) Technical Quality Audit reviews by McDermott Global Procedures
  • Develop and maintain the departmental technical guidelines for the Digital Twin practice
  • Lead, mentor, and oversee development engineers and contractors to ensure efficient implementation of solutions basis approved requirement specifications
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with project owners and stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization
  • Participate & lead design workshops , project alignment meetings and testing of solutions as required
  • Develop timely project status reports
  • Assure that deviations from the project schedule are addressed and communicated
  • Monitor project risk factors, escalate project issues, and provide Quality Assurance for all project deliverables
  • Drive continuous improvement within the practices and proactively process enhancements to solutions basis the lessons learned
  • Utilize strong presentation skills to convey complex project information to executive audiences with clarity and confidence
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, building strong relationships, and employing active listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

Essential Qualifications And Education

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 6 to 10 years of Digitalization for EPC & Autonomous O&M in the Oil & Gas industry
  • A good understanding of industrial assets, control systems, and operational technologies (OT)
  • Proven track record of developing complex bespoke IT solutions on time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge of O&M techniques and analysis methods, and detailed knowledge of the theory, content, and application of standards and guidelines as applicable to Oil & Gas industry
  • Excellent ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable insights for performance improvement.
  • Experience in managing projects within specific IT domains (e.g., Data Management & Predictive Analytics, Business Intelligence , O&M commercially available solutions )
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
