The role is the technical authority for Power BI, contributes to a secondary Tableau environment, and mentors junior developers.

What you'll do
- Build executive dashboards, interactive reports, KPI scorecards, and paginated reports using complex DAX and Power Query (M).
- Implement Row-Level Security; tune datasets and reports; manage workspaces, refresh schedules, and gateway configuration in Power BI Service.
- Translate stakeholder needs into technical specifications and wireframes, delivering on an Agile cadence.
- Maintain governed semantic layers, certified metrics, conformed dimensions, and hierarchies; support star and snowflake schemas.
- Write complex SQL, profile and optimize slow queries, and tune pipelines.
- Validate data through source-to-report reconciliation and regression testing.
- Support Tableau dashboards, calculations, extracts, publishing, and permissions.
- Mentor junior developers, set BI standards, and document architecture and data lineage.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
- Eight or more years in BI development, including enterprise projects with direct stakeholder engagement.
- Strong Power BI portfolio, including Paginated Reports; proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M).
- Experience with Row-Level Security and Power BI performance tuning.
- Advanced SQL, including joins, CTEs, subqueries, and window functions; ability to analyze existing procedures and functions.
- Experience with large datasets in Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse, or SQL Server.
- Solid understanding of data modeling and visualization principles; comfortable working in Agile teams.
Preferred qualifications
- Microsoft PL-300 or DP-600 certification.
- Tableau development experience or Tableau Desktop Certified Professional certification; Tableau Server/Cloud administration.
- Experience with Tableau Prep, Alteryx, or dbt.
- Exposure to Looker, QuickSight, or Figma for wireframing.
