Role overview
Serve as a trusted technical advisor across the customer lifecycle, from presales solution shaping and deal support through delivery, adoption, and expansion.
Combine platform and technology expertise in architecture, integration, data, and AI with customer engagement and clear technical storytelling.
Presales responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to qualify opportunities, uncover business and technical requirements, and build winning strategies.
- Deliver tailored demos, proofs of concept, and technical workshops that connect platform capabilities to business outcomes.
- Present to technical and C-level audiences, including in architecture and security reviews.
- Respond to RFPs and RFIs and create solution designs, business cases, and ROI narratives.
- Work with product, specialist, and partner teams to scope and position solutions.
Post-sales responsibilities
- Hand over solution designs and context to delivery, Professional Services, and Customer Success teams.
- Advise on technical escalations during implementation and validate architecture and best practices.
- Support adoption, health checks, and customer value-realization workshops.
- Identify expansion and renewal opportunities with account teams.
- Capture customer feedback and relay it to product and engineering.
Team and technology leadership
- Mentor sales engineers and share reusable demos, reference architectures, and playbooks.
- Stay current on platform, integration, API, data, security, and AI/agent technologies.
- Contribute to communities of practice and enablement.
Required qualifications
- At least 6 years in solution engineering, technical consulting, architecture, or senior software engineering, including customer-facing experience.
- Strong grasp of cloud platforms, APIs, microservices, integration patterns, and data architecture.
- Hands-on ability in at least one of Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript, and with CI/CD or DevOps concepts.
- Proven ability to run demos and proofs of concept and explain complex technology clearly.
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders and influencing without authority.
- Strong collaboration across sales, delivery, and customer success.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce, MuleSoft, Data Cloud, Agentforce, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM and agentic technologies.
- Knowledge of security, identity, and compliance frameworks.
- Industry or platform certifications, such as Salesforce Architect or cloud certifications.
- Experience with value selling and business case development.
