Role Overview
Develop high-speed networking and Ethernet products for enterprise, hyperscale data center, and AI cluster environments.
Work with hardware, signal integrity, power integrity, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing teams.
High-Speed PCB Layout
- Route 112G/224G SerDes, PCIe Gen 5/6, and DDR4/5/6 interfaces.
- Design differential pairs with tight skew and impedance control.
- Execute dense BGA fan-out for high-pin-count ASICs and FPGAs.
Optical Transceiver Layout
- Design boards supporting QSFP-DD, OSFP, OSFP-XD, or equivalent optical transceivers up to 800G and 1.6T.
- Route PAM4 channels and optimize breakouts beneath high-density optical cages.
- Manage return paths, EMI control, via stub mitigation, and thermal dissipation near optical connectors.
Signal and Power Integrity
- Design 20-to-30-plus-layer stack-ups and calculate impedance profiles for low-reflection and low-crosstalk performance.
- Collaborate on signal integrity channel modeling and pre-layout and post-layout simulations.
- Design PDNs and multiphase DC/DC layouts for high-current, high-transient ASIC loads.
Fabrication and Production
- Generate Gerber, ODB++, and IPC-2581 manufacturing packages.
- Define backdrilling parameters and impedance specifications and ensure DFM, DFA, and DFT compliance.
- Support boards through fabrication, assembly, and production ramp.
Library and Feasibility Ownership
- Create and maintain high-density component footprints for large BGAs and optical connectors.
- Participate in feasibility studies and develop routing guidelines for layout partners.
- Review external placement and routing work for quality and schedule adherence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant hardware engineering experience.
- Experience with 100G/200G PAM4 Ethernet switching and 112G/224G routing.
- Advanced proficiency in Cadence Allegro and Sigrity.
- Experience with 20-plus-layer boards, sequential lamination, HDI, and ultra-low-loss materials.
- Experience with multiphase DC/DC layout and high-speed optical transceiver PCB layout.
Compensation
- Base pay is listed as a range of $133,000 to $180,000.
- Certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity.
