Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Odoo Developer role based in Melbourne, VIC.
The Senior Odoo Developer will design, develop, and maintain custom Odoo modules and integrations that support clients’ core business processes.
Responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, configuring Odoo apps, writing clean and maintainable code, and performing unit and integration testing.
The role involves collaborating closely with consultants, functional analysts, and clients to translate functional specifications into robust technical solutions and to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
The Senior Odoo Developer will also review code from other team members, contribute to best practices and technical standards, support deployments and upgrades, and mentor less experienced developers.
Qualifications
- Strong Odoo development expertise, including custom module development, Odoo framework (ORM, views, workflows), and configuration of core Odoo apps (e.g., Sales, Inventory, Accounting, Manufacturing).
- Solid software engineering skills, including proficiency in Python, understanding of MVC architectures, RESTful APIs, and experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, XML, and QWeb templates.
- Database and infrastructure knowledge, including PostgreSQL experience, performance optimization, and familiarity with Linux-based environments, version control (Git), and deployment tools.
- Business and consulting capabilities, including requirements gathering, solution design, and experience working with ERP implementations across sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, or similar industries.
- Collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and provide guidance and mentorship to other developers.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior or lead Odoo development role, preferably with a partner or consulting organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Odoo certifications or prior experience with Odoo Enterprise deployments are highly regarded.
