Role overview

Workplace and schedule

• This is an on-site position with a standard five-day-per-week office schedule.
• Office location may be a satellite site in Hampshire or Wiltshire, or London.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Information Security, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 6 years of experience with IP networking, internet service providers, L2–L7 protocols, BGP, or network troubleshooting.
• Experience designing and implementing resilient, secure networks using a wide range of technologies.
• Active, or ability to obtain, Developed Vetting (DV) UK security clearance.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience deploying and operating production workloads in Kubernetes.
• Experience with scalable cloud networking, such as load balancers and firewalls, and web standards such as REST APIs and web security mechanisms.
• Experience managing or directing field operations technicians, engineers, and extended workforces in telecommunications.
• Experience with software-defined networking, scripting and automation, network architecture, or MPLS L3 VPN.
• Strong partner management, follow-through, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Current active UK Security Check (SC) or UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Improve the full lifecycle of private and secure networks, from design and validation through deployment, operation, and optimization.
• Help Engineering and Operations teams build integration ecosystems and scale software automation in private and secure networks.
• Work cross-functionally to design, develop, and validate product introductions for network and computing hardware, solutions, and technologies.
• Provide technical implementation and operational support in customer environments, including advice on cross-product integration feasibility.
• Configure and maintain network infrastructure from inception and design through validation, deployment, operation, and optimization.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve incidents promptly.
