Senior Network Engineer role with a local authority client undertaking an extensive IT infrastructure transformation and upgrade programme.

Compensation
- Salary is £57,000 per annum, fixed.

Duties
- Manage daily network infrastructure operations to ensure availability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with IT teams on projects and network and communications solution integration; share knowledge and provide technical guidance.
- Lead design and optimization of critical network and communications infrastructure for security, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Information Security to support ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and PCN compliance.
- Develop and implement network improvement plans for efficiency, scalability, and security.
- Create, update, and maintain network design documents and operational documentation.
Technical requirements
- Comprehensive understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, with hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing complex networks.
- Proficiency configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Meraki SD-WAN, Meraki Wireless, Palo Alto Firewall, cloud, and on-premise data-centre solutions; these technologies are stated as essential.
- Experience designing and maintaining voice and communications technologies, including SIP Trunking, Session Border Controllers, Microsoft Teams, and Netcall Liberty Converse.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
Tools and certifications
- Familiarity with Site24x7 for network monitoring and management is advantageous.
- Relevant professional certifications are requested; examples include CompTIA Network+, Cisco Meraki ECMS 500-220, Nutanix Certified Professional, Cisco CCNP Enterprise, and Palo Alto PCNSE.
