Role overview

Inspection and reporting

• Examines welds and materials using a qualified NDT method in accordance with project plans, approved procedures, codes, and contractual specifications.
• Determines acceptance or rejection against defined criteria and reports examination results accurately.
• Coordinates assigned work with the Quality Inspector; reports conforming and non-conforming work and ensures rectified work is checked before re-examination.
• Completes inspection and evaluation duties, prepares reports using software, and maintains equipment and certification records.
• Sets up and calibrates NDT equipment as needed and ensures equipment functions properly and safely.

Safety, teamwork, and training

• Follows company and customer safety standards, legal regulations, PPE requirements, and safe work practices; alerts others to potential hazards.
• Works independently and with remote NDT personnel, and mentors or trains coworkers as assigned.
• Demonstrates professional communication and a positive customer-service attitude.

NDT methods

• The listed examination methods are UT, PT, MT, RT, PAUT, and ET; the role calls for qualification in one of the applicable methods.

Qualifications and education

• High school diploma or degree.
• Five or more years as an NDT inspector in a relevant method.
• ASNT, PCN, or CSWIP Level II qualification and occupational qualification under an internationally recognized competency scheme.
• Proficiency using a computer and Microsoft programs.
• Hands-on experience with current digital equipment.
