Role overview
The role maintains and optimizes relational, in-memory, messaging, and analytical data stores across MySQL/MariaDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, and ClickHouse.
The DBA is responsible for the health, scaling, high availability, and operational efficiency of the data ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Administer, tune, and scale production MySQL/MariaDB databases, including Galera Cluster, master-slave replication, backups, recovery, and query optimization.
- Manage and monitor ClickHouse clusters for real-time analytics and time-series storage.
- Configure RabbitMQ clusters for high throughput, zero message loss, and low latency for microservices.
- Manage Redis for caching, session persistence, and memory optimization.
- Automate monitoring, backups, failover, disaster recovery, and security protocols across database and messaging platforms.
- Work with backend engineering teams to optimize schemas, slow queries, and data pipelines.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of hands-on experience as a DBA or Data Platform Engineer.
- Deep production expertise with MySQL or MariaDB in high-load environments.
- Hands-on administration of RabbitMQ, Redis, and ClickHouse.
- Strong scripting skills in Shell/Bash, Python, or Go for automation and maintenance.
- Understanding of Linux system administration, storage I/O, database security, and hardware sizing.
- MySQL experience: 7 years, specified as required.
- Reliable commute to or relocation to Chennai, Tamil Nadu, before starting work.
Pay and benefits
- Pay is ₹2,300,000–₹2,700,000 per year.
