Role Overview

Role Details

• The role is based in Melbourne or Geelong, Victoria, and candidates must be based in Victoria.
• The working arrangement is hybrid with a two-to-three split.
• The engagement is a 12-month contract with an optional 12-month extension.
• Australian Citizenship is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and support iOS and Android mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript.
• Modernise mobile applications and front-end portal experiences as part of a digital transformation program.
• Develop mobile components from UI designs with UX/UI, business, and technical stakeholders.
• Integrate applications with REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication services, and back-end platforms.
• Contribute across technical design, documentation, development, testing, and release activities.
• Maintain code quality through peer reviews, clean coding, and support for large codebases.
• Meet security, accessibility, and quality standards, including WCAG and mobile guidelines.
• Support automated, integration, and end-to-end testing with QA teams.
• Support CI/CD, deployment, and ongoing product improvement in an Agile environment.

Selection Criteria

• Strong commercial experience developing and releasing applications across both iOS and Android.
• Advanced React Native and TypeScript experience is essential.
• Strong mobile architecture, reusable component, state management, and maintainable code experience.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, authentication services, and back-end platforms.
• Experience developing accessible mobile applications aligned with Apple, Google, and WCAG standards.
• Experience with automated unit, component, integration, and functional testing.
• Ability to work across design, development, code review, deployment, and long-term support.

Desirable Experience

• Expo experience and React Native integration with Kotlin, Java, Swift, or Objective-C native layers are highly regarded.
• DevOps exposure to GitHub CI/CD, Artifactory, HashiCorp Vault, Docker, Kubernetes, or Helm is highly regarded.
• Back-end development experience with Golang, JavaScript, or TypeScript would be beneficial.
