Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Qatar for a Senior MEP QA/QC Engineer at HATCO.
The Senior MEP QA/QC Engineer will oversee quality assurance and quality control activities for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and ELV systems on data center and building projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and local regulations.
Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and implementing project-specific QA/QC plans, reviewing technical submittals, method statements, and material approvals, and coordinating inspections and tests with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
The role involves monitoring site installation works, identifying non-conformances, recommending corrective actions, and maintaining accurate QA/QC documentation, including ITPs, checklists, test reports, and as-built records.
The Senior MEP QA/QC Engineer will also support commissioning activities, participate in design and constructability reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes across projects.
Qualifications
- Strong MEP engineering background, with hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and ELV systems for large-scale building or data center projects.
- Proven experience in QA/QC management, including development and implementation of QA/QC plans, ITPs, method statements, and quality procedures.
- Solid knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., BS, IEC, NFPA, ASHRAE) and familiarity with data center–related standards and best practices.
- Experience in inspection and testing of MEP installations, witness of factory and site acceptance tests, and verification of commissioning documentation.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, schematics, and technical specifications, and coordinating with design and site teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail in maintaining test reports, NCRs, CARs, and as-built quality records.
