Role Overview
The Senior MEP Design Engineer coordinates design across projects at Heathrow Airport as part of the Design Management team.

The Senior MEP Design Engineer coordinates design across projects at Heathrow Airport as part of the Design Management team.
The role works closely with the Project Manager and engages clients, design consultants, and other stakeholders on design and engineering matters.
Design solutions must be delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with applicable design, quality, health, safety, wellbeing, and sustainability requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to health and safety objectives under company policies and procedures.
- Lead design package tendering from client briefs, including scope definition, technical review, and stakeholder negotiation.
- Create and manage the Design Responsibility Matrix and coordinate design interfaces across disciplines.
- Manage design team activities and resources to meet safety, programme, and cost requirements.
- Lead direct reports where applicable and support their performance, capability development, and resource planning.
- Lead design reviews, capture requirements, promote innovation and sustainability, and identify value engineering opportunities.
- Support procurement with subcontract scope definition and package procurement within financial parameters.
- Support design contract administration, change and risk management, consultant selection, and exploration of emerging tools and technologies.
