Senior Mechanical Engineer (MEP)

Role overview

Team and project delivery

• Lead the mechanical engineering team across multiple MEP projects and guide engineers, foremen, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Plan and monitor construction activities, manpower, materials, equipment, schedules, and resources to support timely project delivery.
• Review and approve mechanical designs, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Oversee HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and mechanical equipment installation; resolve complex technical issues.
• Coordinate design changes and engineering solutions with consultants and clients.

Site, quality, and commissioning

• Monitor site progress, coordinate work across engineering disciplines, conduct inspections, and hold progress review meetings.
• Ensure work meets approved drawings, quality requirements, safety requirements, contracts, authority regulations, and applicable standards.
• Implement QA/QC procedures; review inspection reports, testing records, and quality documentation against ISO standards and project quality plans.
• Lead testing, balancing, commissioning, handover, snag rectification, and close-out; verify system performance and specification compliance.
• Minimize rework through proactive quality control.

Client and stakeholder coordination

• Serve as primary technical contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders; attend meetings and provide technical presentations and progress updates.
• Support commercial and project management teams on technical matters and variations.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; a master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 10–15 years of MEP project experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or lead mechanical engineering role.
• Proven experience in large-scale commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, or mixed-use developments.
• UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred.
• Professional certifications related to HVAC, MEP, Project Management, or Quality Management are preferred.
