Role overview
Experienced MEP Mechanical Engineer sought for an engineering consultancy team.
Supervise, inspect, and monitor mechanical building-services installations at project sites against approved drawings, specifications, codes, and local authority requirements.
Site supervision and systems
- Supervise mechanical MEP installations and inspect HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation, ductwork, and associated equipment.
- Supervise plumbing, water supply, drainage, and stormwater systems; monitor firefighting installations, including sprinklers, fire pumps, and piping networks.
- Conduct site inspections and review inspection requests for approved-design and quality compliance.
- Identify discrepancies, installation issues, and non-conformities, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Coordinate with electrical, civil, architectural, and other MEP disciplines to resolve site clashes.
- Verify installed materials and equipment against approved submittals and project specifications.
Technical reviews, commissioning, and reporting
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and other technical documents.
- Witness and monitor testing, adjusting, balancing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor progress against the approved schedule; review as-built drawings and ensure site modifications are documented.
- Prepare inspection reports, progress reports, snag lists, and other project documentation; follow up on observations, snags, and outstanding work.
- Attend site meetings and coordinate with contractors, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, UAE authority requirements, project specifications, and health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and experience
- At least 10 years of relevant mechanical MEP site-supervision experience; engineering consultancy experience is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
- Proven experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests; good understanding of mechanical testing and commissioning.
- Familiarity with UAE authority requirements, applicable international codes, and project specifications; ability to interpret drawings and resolve coordination issues.
- Knowledge of electrical and public health systems is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use building projects; UAE project experience is preferred.
Pay
- Pay starts at AED 1 per month.
