Role Description
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for leading mechanical engineering activities across MEP projects.
This role includes designing and reviewing mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and authority requirements.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will oversee BIM design outputs, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and supervisors.
Daily responsibilities involve preparing and approving technical documentation, performing calculations, reviewing drawings and specifications, and supporting installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
The role also requires close collaboration with project management, clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely delivery, quality, and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Strong Mechanical Engineering background with proven experience in building services and MEP systems.(+10 years)
- Proficiency in Machine Design and mechanical system analysis for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection applications.
- Advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and BIM skills for reviewing detailed mechanical drawings and models.
- Demonstrated Project Management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D) or continuous improvement of mechanical solutions, materials, and methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with international and local standards (e.g., ISO, OHSAS, ADDC, ADCE, ADCD) and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and work effectively in a fast-paced on-site environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
- Previous experience in Abu Dhabi or the wider GCC region and professional certifications
