Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design development across all project stages (Concept, Schematic, Detailed Design, IFC).
• Prepare and review mechanical design drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
• Design and coordinate:
• HVAC Systems

• Fire Fighting Systems

• Ventilation Systems

• Mechanical Equipment Selection

• Perform cooling load calculations and mechanical system sizing.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code, international standards, and authority requirements.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and infrastructure teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Review technical submissions, shop drawings, and material approvals when required.
• Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, and design coordination sessions.
• Support value engineering exercises and propose optimized mechanical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal quality assurance processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical design consultancy.
• Strong expertise in:
• HVAC Design
• Plumbing Systems

• Mechanical Calculations & Equipment Selection

• Proficiency in:
• HAP
• AutoCAD
• Revit MEP
• BIM workflows
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, Saudi codes, and authority requirements.
• Excellent coordination, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under deadlines.
• GCC/Saudi Arabia project experience is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with governmental and mega projects.
• Knowledge of sustainability and energy-efficient design practices.
• PMP, LEED, or related certifications are considered an advantage
